- Shock - A severe condition that disturbs the body whenwhen the level of blood sugar drops suddenly
- Risk Factor - Anything that raises the chance that a person will get a disease
- Insulin resistance - A condition in which a cell is resistant to insulin action
- Blood sugar - The amount of glucose present in a person's blood
- Pre-Diabetes - A health condition that a person develops before the more serious Type 2 diabetes
- Diabetes - A syndrome of disordered metabolism, usually due to a combination of hereditary and environmental causes.
- High Blood Pressure - a repeatedly elevated blood pressure exceeding 140 over 90 mmHg
- Insulin - A hormone in which Patients with Type 1 diabetes depend on external insulin for their survival
- Type 1 Diabetes - An autoimmune disease that results in destruction of insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas
- Type 2 Diabetes - A disorder that is characterized by high blood glucose in the context of insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency
